Georgia Ranked 5th Worst State for Knowledgeable Drivers

The GMAC Insurance just released its 2008 National Drivers Test results. They tested 5,524 drivers from all across the county using actual DMV test questions. Nationally, 16.4% of the drivers on the road today would not have passed a written DMV test. In the state rankings, 24.5% of Georgia residents would not have passed. Next time you are driving, look at the car to each side of you and the cars in front and behind you. One of those drivers cannot pass the DMV test! This is all the more reason for defensive driving. The two biggest missed questions dealt with what to do when approaching a solid yellow light (84% got it wrong) and what the typical safe distance between cars was (73% got it wrong). The latter statistic is further proof of why 43% of car accidents in Georgia are rear-end accidents.
